Opinion: The New York Giants Won The 2022 NFL Draft

Any team that can get away with snagging two players projected to be No. 1 Overall in the NFL Draft, wins it all for me. Teams are looking every year for left tackle to protect their quarterback's blind side and a defensive end that can beat the aforementioned left tackle and get to the quarterback. The New York Giants have done exactly that drafting Oregon's Kayvon Thibodeaux and Alabama's Evan Neal.

The Giants also got some help for Daniel Jones and a big boost in their return game after selecting Kentucky's WanDale Robinson in the 2nd Round. In the 3rd and 5th rounds, they drafted more protection for Jones with the selection of two UNC Tar Heels offensive line teammates Joshua Ezeudu (3rd Round) and Marcus McKethan (5th Round)

The Giants were also thin at safety but solved that problem after drafting LSU's Cordale Flott and Iowa's Dane Belton. I think the steal of the draft for them was Indiana's Micah McFadden in the 5th Round. I believe will be a big surprise to the Giants defensive coaching staff.

Overall for the Giants, they addressed a lot of needs and the two biggest needs that every NFL team had. Sure the Jets did a great job in the NFL Draft as well but that was too easy of a pick for me. Daniel Jones has no more excuses moving forward. He's got protection, he's got weapons and a much improved defense in 2022. If running back Saquon Barkley avoid injury and be what he was his rookie year, I see the Giants being a SLEEPER team in the NFL this season
